Weight Room Safety Rules:

1. Supervision:

- All students must be supervised by a qualified instructor or coach at all times while in the weight room.
- No one is permitted to use the weight room without authorized supervision.


2. Proper Attire:
- Wear appropriate athletic clothing, including a shirt, athletic shorts or pants, and closed-toe athletic shoes.
- Jewelry, loose clothing, and open-toe shoes are prohibited.


3. Warm-Up and Cool Down:
- Perform a proper warm-up before beginning any workout to prevent injury.
- Allow time for a cool down after workouts to aid recovery.


4. Equipment Use:
- Use equipment only as instructed. Do not attempt exercises or use machines without proper knowledge and training.
- Check equipment for damage before use. Report any broken or malfunctioning equipment to the instructor immediately.


5. Spotters:
- Always use a spotter when lifting heavy weights, particularly for exercises like bench presses and squats.
- Spotters should be trained on proper spotting techniques and be attentive at all times.


6. Weight Room Etiquette:
- Share equipment and space. Allow others to work in between sets.
- Do not drop or slam weights. Control all movements to prevent injury and damage to equipment.


7. Cleanliness:
- Wipe down equipment after use with the provided disinfectant wipes or spray.
- Return all weights, bars, and other equipment to their proper storage areas after use.


8. Personal Safety:
- Stay hydrated and listen to your body. Stop exercising immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, or experience any unusual pain.
- Report any injuries to the instructor immediately, no matter how minor they may seem.


9. No Horseplay:
- The weight room is a serious training environment. No running, roughhousing, or inappropriate behavior will be tolerated.


10. Respect:
- Treat all instructors, peers, and equipment with respect.
- Encourage and support your fellow students. Disrespectful behavior or language will not be tolerated.


11. Cell Phones and Devices:
- Cell phones and personal devices should not be used during workouts, except for music with headphones or tracking workouts, provided they do not interfere with your focus or safety./CELL PHONE USE IS ONLY INSTRUCTOR APPROVED DURING CERTAIN TRAINING PERIODS!


12. Follow the Program:
- Adhere to the workout program provided by the instructor. Do not modify exercises or add additional workouts without approval.


13. Emergency Procedures:
- Familiarize yourself with the location of emergency exits and first aid supplies.
- In case of an emergency, follow the instructor’s directions and assist as needed.


14. Leaving the Weight Room:
- Notify the instructor before leaving the weight room for any reason.
- Ensure the weight room is clean and all equipment is properly stored before exiting.


15. Consequences for Rule Violations:
- Failure to follow these rules may result in a warning, temporary suspension from the weight room, or other disciplinary actions as determined by the instructor or school administration.
